About Station Seven

Station Seven was founded by James Michael Hughes in 2017 to create film, television, theatre and new media projects.  Station Seven is in production with its first feature documentary, Presenting Geraldine Page and is currently developing various projects for film and theater. 

James is an entertainment veteran who has amassed over 20 years of experience and expertise in the industry encompassing theater, television and film. 

His creative roots began with training at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City as well as The Actors Studio. In addition, James studied privately with the late Oscar-winning actress Shelley Winters.  James earned in BA from The New School and went on to receive his MFA in Independent Film Producing at the UCLA School of Film, Theater and Television.  

James has worked in both Development and Post Production at Propaganda Films.  He held his first studio position at Twentieth Century Fox International Television. From there he joined Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Digital Distribution, then over to Miramax Films.  James currently works in Creative Marketing at Lionsgate Films. 

James launched his first venture into theatrical stage producing with “The Mask of St. George and the Dragon” directed by Anna Strasberg.  James Associate Produced “The Why” and the Pulitzer Prize nominee “Sons of the Prophets” both at The Blank Theatre.  He also produced “The Glass Menagerie” at the Greenway Court Theatre. In New York, James produced “You Are Perfect,” “A Perfect Analysis for a Parrot” and “A Cavalier of Milady” for the White Horse Theater Company. 

James wrote, produced and directed a multiple award-winning short film, Every Night and Twice on Sundays.  James was the Associate Producer of the short film, Little Bird starring Imelda Staunton which premiered in the 2017 TriBeca Film Festival.
